Eleanor Standifird, CMHCi
You may be feeling heavy or hurt from life’s demands, exhausted from navigating your responsibilities, or find yourself stuck in patterns of thoughts, emotions, or behaviors that cause distress. The truth is that life is difficult and it is normal to feel overwhelmed or stuck! Seeking support may also feel scary and overwhelming, but it is an important step in exploring your challenges and learning to live a fulfilling life.
I believe that counseling should create a space of safety where you can show up as your authentic self and receive compassion and nonjudgment. As we get to know each other and build a relationship based on vulnerability and trust, you’ll gain insight into patterns that may be helping or hindering you. You’ll develop skills to stay present and engage with life authentically and intentionally. Together, we’ll create a safe space to process pain while moving toward values-driven action. My warm, collaborative approach will support you in building empowerment, embracing discomfort, and creating meaningful change.
I enjoy working with individuals who are navigating the complexities of life including anxiety, depression, faith transitions, and identity exploration. I believe life is nuanced and complicated, and I hope to provide a space of safety and warmth where we can explore these complexities. I believe each person’s journey in counseling is unique and you know yourself best, so I will meet you where you are and partner with you along the journey.
Outside of the counseling room, I am filled up by the beauty of nature and my close relationships! I enjoy spending time outdoors whether I am hiking, running, boating, or roller skating. I also love to hang out with my family; being authentic and feeling connected is important to me! I have experienced both the deep heartache and the joy that life can bring, and I hope to provide a space where we can explore the intricacies of humanity together.
