FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY
Haydn Selk, AMFT
Hello everyone! My name is Haydn Selk, I am from Canada, recently graduated with my Master’s in Marriage and Family therapy, and am so looking forward to joining the team at Arcadia!
I am so passionate about helping couples heal their relationships, whether that be through reparative or preventative efforts. I am especially interested in providing a safe and comfortable space to discuss issues revolving around sex and sexual intimacy. I believe that so much healing can happen for the overall relationship by having those necessary but sometimes difficult conversations. I love helping couples reestablish trust with one another or perhaps navigate the decision to no longer be together. Whatever is best for the couple moving forward, I am here to listen and support. I have worked with couples on household task distribution, desire imbalance, adding kids, religious differences, older/aging transitions, and extended family impact, to name a few. I want to grow my expertise and experience working with couples in any capacity.
I am also incredibly passionate about anything around women’s health, self-esteem, and empowerment. I feel so happy to help a woman feel heard and supported in her experience. I love working with women in the prenatal, perinatal, or post-partum. This time of transition and hormonal changes can leave many women feeling lost and alone. I love working with women and their partners during this time to encourage connection and the opportunity for a woman to remember herself in motherhood. I also enjoy working with women seeking therapy around menstrual cycle, hormonal, or menopausal changes. There are so many nuances that go unacknowledged, and I am here to provide the attention it deserves. I want to create an environment for women to feel supported and encouraged to be the person they want to be.
I am pretty emotion-focused and enjoy helping any and all populations acknowledge and feel that part of themselves.
