Jessi Bodell, ACMHC
Realizing you need help is one thing, but actually asking for it? That’s where the real superpower comes in. We all go through stuff, whether it’s issues with your parents, school, family, spouse, work, or just life in general. My job as a therapist is to help you tackle those challenges, get to know yourself better, and provide you with the tools you need to handle whatever comes your way. I started my career as a mentor, working with foster kids, I helped them navigate school, kindergarten through senior high. I understand the challenges of being a kid in foster care and can help with those feelings of anger, frustration, and any other barriers that get in the way.
I’ve worked as a school counselor and understand the difficulties students face as they attempt to navigate a world that, even adults struggle to understand. These experiences are what inspired me to pursue a career in the helping fields and become a therapist. Being able to follow my passion, where I can help children, teens, adults, couples, and families on a more personal level is the best part of what I do.
Being married for over 20 years and raising three kids has given me a real-life understanding of what you might be going through. I get that therapy can seem a bit daunting at first. It’s totally normal to feel uneasy about opening up to someone. But I’m here to support you and help you work through things so you can live a more fulfilling life. Therapy is a place where you can let it all out and deal with your emotions in a safe, judgment-free zone. I’m all about helping you find your way to feeling better, healing, and discovering more about yourself.
