Tawnie Maurer, LMFT
Therapy is a transformative experience for both the therapist and the client. I have transformed as I strive to embody compassion, empathy, and kindness working alongside clients who suffer through challenges of addiction, trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship discord, betrayal, grief, and loss. I aim to provide a safe space for clients to explore their struggles and pain. I myself am no stranger to pain, health challenges, heartache, loneliness, grief, and loss. As a therapist, I have been privileged to help individuals, relationships, and families discover how they can show up more meaningfully in the world.
My therapy approach focuses on identifying patterns, relational habits, or constraints that perpetuate the challenges that bring people into therapy. My approach stems from models such as integrative systems theory, solutions-focused therapy, and Gottman research along with exploring a client’s existential perspective to help them achieve their goals.
My systemic training has helped me become more intentional in my own relationships and family. As I have become more deliberate in my interactions in the world and the meanings I choose to uphold, I have discovered healing, grace, and peace. My greatest hope is to help others do the same.
