FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY

Cameron Hopkin, ACMHC

I am a long-time educator and have worked as faculty at UVU in the Psychology and Counseling department for the last six years. As such, I spend a lot of time with young adults and feel most comfortable counseling folks in their late teens to mid-twenties, though I have had good experiences with older adults and younger teens as well. I have a broad range of knowledge within the realm of psychology, having a PhD in social psychology and teaching a broad range of development, abnormal psych, and statistics courses. Psychoeducation comes easily for me — perhaps a little too easily!

I am passionate about IFS and see it as a useful approach for many if not most clients. It’s great for trauma recovery, of course, and I love doing that work, but I’ve seen folks with anxiety and depression issues respond very positively as well. Another strong focus of mine: I want to help address the epidemic of disengagement and lack of motivation I see in young men. So many of them can’t even articulate what they want from life and find themselves adrift once they leave high school. Gimme those guys! I would also like to see middle-aged adults struggling to manage kids, marriage, and career.
