FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY

 Lauren Christensen, CMHC

I have worked in the trauma field for over 10 years, with a specialization in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) since 2018 and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) since 2021. My passion for trauma work is what drives me every day, and I love helping individuals work through their struggles with a compassionate and client-centered approach.

I have a special place in my heart for working with children. With kids, I specialize in arts and crafts, art therapy, EMDR, play therapy, sand therapy, as well as addressing issues related to divorce and family dynamics. I enjoy helping kids navigate difficult emotions and situations, and I’m especially drawn to supporting them with trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and the challenges that come with family changes. I also have significant experience working with schools and co-parenting dynamics to ensure a holistic approach to the child’s well-being.

With adults, my primary focus is trauma work, including complex PTSD (CPTSD) and PTSD, along with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I approach each client with a trauma-informed lens, believing that understanding and addressing the impact of past experiences is key to healing and growth.

A bit about me personally—I’m a millennial with a FOMO issue (fear of missing out) and a huge passion for all things Disney and Harry Potter. You’ll often find me geeking out over these fandoms!

As a therapist, I believe in setting clear expectations and fostering accountability. I give homework and encourage clients to complete it at least 50% of the time. Additionally, I require my clients to fill out assessments (such as the GAD7, PHQ9, and PCL5) every three months to track progress and ensure we’re staying on the right path for healing.

I’m excited to continue doing this important work with my team, and I look forward to collaborating with everyone to support our clients and each other.
