Dr. Scott Petersen, DBH, LMFT

Life can be overwhelming, especially when our hopes, dreams, and relationships don’t unfold the way we expected. During these difficult times, it’s not always easy to reach out for help. If you’re experiencing sadness, anxiety, stress, grief, or a sense of hopelessness, know that you’re not alone—and healing is possible. At Arcadia Counseling, I offer a supportive, compassionate space to help you navigate life’s challenges and rebuild peace, trust, and hope in your life and relationships.

With over 25 years of experience in behavioral health, I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and groups. My training includes a Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University, a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Brigham Young University.

My therapeutic approach is evidence-based and client-centered. I incorporate Marital and Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Substance Use Disorder treatment, depending on your unique needs and goals. If you’re ready to take the first step toward healing and growth, I invite you to reach out. Let’s work together to restore the connection, clarity, and confidence you deserve.
